sushee the intern

i have 6 more days as a trainee and i'm kinda sad about it. i like this auditing firm and i like my department..the work, people, and the culture. unlike most of the other interns in my batch im not doing auditing work. funny how things worked out really. when i was filling up my application form i wasnt sure if i really wanted tax but at the back of my head it was my choice. :)

i can write so many things bout my experience so far despite the fact that im underworked. hehe (like right now, i dont have work since morning..its 3 pm!). i think it was a very good idea that internship is required in the dlsu curriculum. in one month students can learn so many things, and not just about the practice..about corporate behavior, the happy and sad realities of having a job, the real meaning of business attire, having a boss..and balancing work with school is something everyone should try! hahaha

i'll miss this for sure i don't wanna get back to homework and exams

cheesy

my three cheese vegetable lasagna was over-cheesy.  i felt i was eating a dish of mozzarella.  but maybe it was supposed to be that way, it was a three cheese veggie lasagna haha.  i dragged a friend from a supposedly overtime work to try Apartment 1B coz i've been hearing about it since forever.  her clam chowder was yummy :)  my food was just ok, but i think i just ordered the wrong thing..i was really eyeing the vongole, but im not allowed to eat seafood for now (long boring allergy story).  nway, i was a bit distracted during dinner so i couldn't really taste my food full on..haha

i love the ambience, very cozy.  the price..well a bit expensive, but i dunno, my dish can feed 2 people (huuuge, it scared me) so its not so bad when you think about it.

kalesa ride

from carriedo to blumentritt, in my business attire! haha! sosyal..feeling turista :)  coz we couldn't get a taxi and my feet were killing me coz i had the nerve to go to the NBI clearance place on heels.  surprisingly i found the ride relaxing.  but i didn't like the whip hitting the horse. kawawa naman.  and i think i left my brain on the kalesa coz today my oral exam was blaah. boo.  oh well, you can't get everything right.

i am two women

got this from Karo's facebook page:

I am two women: one wants to have all the joy, passion and adventure that life can give me. The other wants to be a slave to routine, to family life, to the things that can be planned and achieved.

pizza-hunting

post Tanging Ina snack, sandy's pizza in little baguio greenhills :) 1 whole pizza, 2 pizza hunters, 2 flavors.  3-cheese and adobo (tastes nothing like adobo but yummy still). yummm! we were half-expecting gabby or kc conception to pop out and serve us our drinks or something, but we weren't that lucky.  its a very small place, only 2 tables, obviously meant to be a take out/delivery place, but it had a nice feel to it.  that hole-in-the-wall but not crummy kind of feel. haha.

"do one thing everyday that scares you"

That's a line from the song Sunscreen :)

Well, I did two scary things today:
1.  Was extremely honest to a friend.  Scary as hell, but so liberating!  Like a thorn off my back..its been bothering me for a while.  Anyway, I've never really thought about what happens next, but I guess I'll worry about that when it comes.

2.  Joined a roda in a capoeira workshop!  I played with a visiting teacher from Malaysia, Instrutor Soldado, who I think is a Brazilian version of Vin Diesel.  :)  meaning he can probably crush me with his bare hands.  It was my first roda, eeeps, so scary! I honestly didn't know what to do..but the energy was infectious..and it wasn't a real fight, the teacher was sorta guiding me while playing.

I'm really not supposed to be happy today, lots of CRAP going on, but I am :)  and surprisingly this is turning out to be an awesome day.

Adaptation

From my friend Anne's Facebook post, from a scene in the movie Adaptation:

Charlie Kaufman: There was this time in high school. I was watching you out the library window. You were talking to Sarah Marsh.

Donald Kaufman: Oh, God. I was so in love with her.

Charlie Kaufman: I know. And you were flirting with her. And she was being really sweet to you.

 Donald Kaufman: I remember that.

Charlie Kaufman: Then, when you walked away, she started making fun of you with Kim Canetti. And it was like they were laughing at *me*. You didn't know at all. You seemed so happy.

Donald Kaufman: I knew. I heard them.

Charlie Kaufman: How come you looked so happy?

Donald Kaufman: I loved Sarah, Charles. It was mine, that love. I owned it. Even Sarah didn't have the right to take it away. I can love whoever I want.

Charlie Kaufman: But she thought you were pathetic.

Donald Kaufman: That was her business, not mine. You are what you love, not what loves you. That's what I decided a long time ago.

 Donald Kaufman: Whats up?

 Charlie Kaufman: Thank you.

 Donald Kaufman: For what?

After reading this I was so intrigued and I immediately looked for a copy of the movie.  I just finished watching it and it was beautiful :)  I loved the scene with this dialogue, I also loved a scene when Laroche was explaining the relationship between flowers and insects.

Note: The movie is not cheesy at all! Go watch it.
